What details do I need to give Coople to start working in Switzerland?

To hire you and make the right tax contributions, we need to check your right to work and tax status in Switzerland.

Coople is your legal employer. To hire you, the first thing we need to check is your right to work in Switzerland. Then, we need to determine the type of tax you will pay.

I’m a Swiss national

Go to the Right to work section:

  1. Tap on Profile

  2. Tap on Settings at the top right corner

  3. Tap on Right to work

Add:

  • Social insurance number (OASI/AHV/AVS)

  • You nationality

  • Your address (if it’s different from your contact address)

Go to your Documents:

  1. Tap on Profile

  2. Tap on Documents

  3. Tap on ID Documents, select the document type and expiry date

  4. Take a photo of your ID or passport

Taxes

You’ll have to do a self-declaration at the end of the year to pay taxes.

If you live outside of Switzerland, you’ll pay withholding tax. There is nothing else you need to do now.


I’m a foreign national and I have a C permit

Go to the Right to work section:

  1. Tap on Profile

  2. Tap on Settings at the top right corner

  3. Tap on Right to work

Add:

  • Social insurance number (OASI/AHV/AVS)

  • You Nationality

  • Your Work permit type - C settled foreign nationals

  • Your Residence (if it’s different from your contact address)

Go to your Documents:

  1. Tap on Profile

  2. Tap on Documents

  3. Tap on ID Documents, select the document type and expiry date

  4. Take a photo of your ID or passport

  5. Now repeat the same steps to upload a copy of your C permit

Taxes you’ll pay

  • Your purpose of residence

  • Your Marital status - single

  • The Number of maintained children

  • Your Partner's information

    a) Partner's nationality

    b) Partnership certificate - we only need to see the page where both of your names appear

  • Your Residence (if it’s different from your contact address)

Go to your Documents:

  1. Tap on Profile

  2. Tap on Documents

  3. Tap on ID Documents, select the document type and expiry date

  4. Take a photo of your ID or passport

  5. Now repeat the same steps to upload a copy of your work permit

Taxes you’ll pay

You’ll pay withholding tax. There is nothing else you need to do now.


I’m a foreign national, I don’t have a C permit and I’m in a partnership with a foreign national who has a C-permit

Go to the Right to work section:

  1. Tap on Profile

  3. Tap on Right to work

  • Your purpose of residence
