From 1st October 2024, new rules under the Allocation of Tips Act will change how tips are shared in the hospitality industry. Here’s how this affects your work with Coople:
You’ll now have the same rights as other hospitality and event workers to receive tips from shifts.
Companies must have a clear policy on how they distribute tips, which should be easy to access or available on request. Coople can help you get this information.
Some companies may pay tips directly to you, while others might do it through Coople. If they choose Coople, we’ll receive tip amounts at the end of the month and pay them to you on the last Friday of the following month.
You’ll get the full amount reported to us, minus Pension and Income Tax.
The company is responsible for the accuracy of the reported tips, and Coople will distribute 100% of what’s been reported, minus tax.
We're here to help if you have any questions or concerns.
