We understand that there might be times when you can't come to work as planned. At the same time, we need to protect companies from last-minute cancellations and absences. This is why we have a strike system that allows you to cancel without penalties within a reasonable timeframe.

How the strike system works:

No strikes

1 strike

2 strikes

3 strikes

Cancel shift more than 24 hours before the start time.

Cancel shift less than 24 hours before the start time.

Cancel shift less than 8 hours before the start time.

Cancel shift less than 2 hours before the start time.

Account suspension

  • We will suspend your account when you get three strikes.

  • We will suspend your account if you are absent from work - you don't go to work and you don't cancel.

No longer interested in a job you applied for? Remove your application

Sometimes companies hire just a few hours before the job starts. To avoid getting strikes in your account, make sure that you can always work the shifts you have applied for.

If you are hired for another job or have made other plans, remove your application from those jobs you can no longer attend. Otherwise, you risk getting strikes in your account and even having your account suspended if the company hires you and you cancel your shift. Remember that you immediately enter a binding agreement to work when a company hires you.

In summary:

  • If you cancel a job before you’re hired, we won’t penalise you.

  • If you cancel a job after you’ve been hired, you need to give us more than 24-hour notice to avoid getting strikes.

  • If you cancel with less than 24-hour notice, we will add strikes to your account. You'll get more strikes the closer you cancel to the starting time. We do this to prevent late cancellations that don't give us or our customers enough time to find a replacement.

  • After your third strike, we will suspend your account.

  • If you don’t show up for work, we will suspend your account immediately.

Check your strikes

  1. Open the Coople Jobs App

  2. Tap on Profile

  3. Tap on Settings at the top right of the screen

  4. Tap on Strike Overview

Start an appeal if you think we need to consider your case

We know there are times when you could not plan your cancellation or give us enough notice. If you disagree with the strikes you got after a cancellation, you can always launch an appeal so we can reconsider our decision.

You have five days to launch an appeal from the moment you receive a strike. A member of our team will get back to you as soon as possible to review your case.

Work 8 shifts in a row to get a strike removed

You can still apply for jobs if you have less than 3 strikes. We recommend you apply for new jobs now. We will remove one of them when you work 8 shifts in a row, without being late.
