How do I edit a published shift?

You can go back into any open shift or already-scheduled shift and change most of its details – your changes are saved as a draft until you choose to publish them.

Editing an open shift

An open shift is one that isn't tied to a specific Coopler yet. Click it in the Planner – or use its ⋯ menu → Edit – to change:

  • Start and end time, and breaks

  • Workers needed

  • Venue

  • Shift supervisor

  • Who can apply (which pools can see it)

  • Candidate profile and wage

  • Expenses (allowances, deductions, reimbursements)

Editing an already-scheduled shift

Once a specific Coopler is on the shift, click their shift in the Planner – or use its ⋯ menu → Edit – to change:

  • Start and end time, and breaks

  • Wage

  • Venue

  • Shift supervisor

  • Expenses (allowances, deductions, reimbursements)

If you change the start/end time, breaks, or expenses, the shift's status changes to OFFERED WITH AMENDMENTS. The Coopler then needs to accept the changes for the shift to go back to Scheduled – there's no deadline for them to respond. If they decline instead, the shift is cancelled outright rather than reverting to the original details, so you'd need to schedule it again if you still need them for that day.

You can still add or edit reimbursements after the shift has been worked – including before you've approved the hours; this stays open until the shift is fully closed. Allowances and deductions, though, can only be changed before the shift starts.

What you can't change

  • The job role itself. Once shifts exist under a job role, the role is fixed on the shift – you can't switch it to a different role. To change the role's own details (title, description, dress code, candidate profile requirements), edit the job role directly rather than a shift.

  • Turning it into a repeating series. Repeat is only available when you first create a shift, not afterwards.

  • A shift that's already finished – once it's completed, cancelled, or otherwise closed out, it can no longer be edited.

Saving and publishing your changes

When you edit a shift, you have two options:

  • Save – keeps your change as a draft. It isn't live yet.

  • Save & Publish – saves and makes it live immediately.

If you just save, a banner appears in your Planner showing how many changes are waiting to go live, along with their combined cost and hours. From there you can Publish everything at once, or Discard it.

Good to know

  • Job role changes take effect immediately – there's no draft/publish step for those.

  • Shift and open shift changes always go through the draft → publish flow described above.

  • You can only edit a shift while it's still active – once it's finished, only Coople can make further changes.
