Why does Coople need my residential address?
Official documents
Your residential address appears on all legally relevant documents, such as assignment contracts, payslips, employer's certificates, interim earnings certificates and employment references. A correct, up-to-date address ensures these documents can be used with authorities, insurers and other institutions.
Social insurance
Your current residential address is essential for processing social insurance benefits correctly. It's needed for reports to the relevant bodies (e.g. family compensation fund, unemployment insurance fund, daily sickness and accident benefits insurance, pension fund). Only with correct details can the corresponding benefits be processed and paid out properly.
Withholding tax
Among other things, your place of residence determines which canton is responsible for your withholding tax and which tax rate applies. Without correct, current details, we can't calculate your withholding tax accurately and may have to apply higher deductions.
Which address should I enter?
Your Coople profile has several address fields, and each one needs to be kept up to date separately:
Residential address (contact details)
Enter the address where you currently live and are officially registered with your municipality. This address is used for all legal purposes (contracts, taxes, social insurance).
⚠️ Please note: Addresses of friends, acquaintances or other family members, as well as P.O. box addresses without a street and number, are not permitted. The address under "Contact details" is meant for your place of residence and must not be used to narrow down your job search by location. The app has a separate feature for that.
Bank details
If your bank's address differs from your residential address, you can enter it separately in your bank details. This address is used solely for paying your salary. How do I enter my bank details?
What do I need to do if I move?
If you move, update your address in your Coople profile before your next salary payment at the latest.

What happens if my address is missing or incorrect?
A missing or incorrect address can have direct consequences for you:
Contracts and documents: Your assignment contracts, payslips, salary statements and other documents may contain incorrect information.
Social insurance: Benefits may not be processed or paid out correctly, and important information may not reach you.
Withholding tax: Your withholding tax can't be calculated correctly, which may result in higher deductions, for example.
Salary payments and assignments: Incorrect or missing details can delay your assignments or your salary payment.
If we suspect that false information has been provided, Coople reserves the right to take immediate action, including blocking your account or your assignments until proof of residence is provided. Costs for additional administrative work or fines will be deducted from your salary. This rule protects everyone involved and ensures compliance with legal requirements.
