If you are sick and cannot attend a scheduled shift, cancel it in the Coople Jobs app as soon as possible. Do not wait until you receive your medical certificate.
Cancel the shift in the app
Open the scheduled shift in the Coople Jobs app.
Select I can’t attend.
Choose Illness as the reason.
Review the information shown about your reliability, badge, and access to shifts.
Confirm the cancellation.
Cancelling in the app informs the company and allows Coople to start looking for a replacement. Calling or messaging the company does not replace cancelling in the app.
Get a medical certificate
A doctor’s certificate is required from the first day of absence due to illness.
It must be issued no later than 3 days after the first day of absence.
If it is issued later, the certificate’s issue date is treated as the first day of illness.
It must come from an in-person doctor’s appointment. Certificates issued after a telephone or online consultation are not accepted.
The certificate must cover the relevant period of absence.
Submit an appeal
After cancelling, open the event in your reliability history and submit an appeal. Attach your medical certificate and explain that illness prevented you from attending.
Submitting a certificate does not guarantee that the appeal will be approved. If the appeal is approved, the cancellation is excused and its effects on your reliability, badge, and access to shifts are reversed.
Submit your appeal and certificate within 48 hours whenever possible. You can still appeal later, but any protection period will have ended while your appeal is reviewed.
What if I become sick during a shift?
Tell the company as soon as possible. If you may be entitled to daily sickness benefits, you will need a doctor’s certificate.
Appeals and sickness-benefit claims are separate
Uploading a medical certificate with an appeal allows Coople to review the effect on your reliability. It does not automatically start a daily sickness-benefit claim.
To request daily sickness benefits, complete the separate sickness report form. Accounting will check whether you are eligible and contact you.
